Stories

Okay, so the homework is Pareidolia. I have no idea if it is spelled correctly but it's about how you can see faces in woods or buildings, cars anything! So my theme is wood as you can see in the pictures and to write about a story on how they would get this expressions. The character I would be using is called William, Will for short. His Brother Andy, Elaine a classmate and his 8 year old cousin. They're original characters and original personalities.

On with the show then

~

Tired

It was a tired day for Will as he slowly trudge back home. There were so much projects to be done and so little time to finish it. Sleep didn't come as easily as in the past and it was taking a toll on his mind and body. Dark eye bags could be seen underneath his eyes.

Pity

Looking at the person sitting along the side walk, a container in front of him with a few coins and notes in it, Will felt nothing but pity for these people. Sometimes, he would think what led to them leading such life? Was it due to unforeseen circumstances that led to them to such states or was it because they were originally poor? He did not continue thinking about it. Taking a note from his wallet, he dropped it into the container.

Astonished

Will was quite astonished when he came back home. His older brother, who was studying in a university overseas, was sitting at the dinning table eating a late lunch made by his mother. Though his older brother and him were close and literally joined at the hip when they were younger, he seldom called or updated his parents on his wellbeing or how was school.

"Oh! Will! You're back! And here I thought I could eat your lunch portion too." His older brother joked.

"Yeah, I'm home."

Happy
Continuation of Astonished

"I'm glad to see you're back. When did you get back?" Will asked, taking a sit at the dining table after kissing his mother on the cheek and telling her he was home.

"Well, since we had a months break after that huge examination we took, I decided to check up on Mom, Dad and of course my baby brother." Andy teased, taking Will into a chock hold and ruffling his hair.

"I'm glad you're back brother but stop messing up my hair!" Will said, attempting to escape his elder siblings hold. However soon, a smile spread across his lips as he laughed.

Surprised

Will felt his jaw drop just a little as he looked at the present in front of him. It was a PS4, a game console that he always wanted since he heard that Kingdom Hearts 3 would be coming out soon. However he didn't have a lot of savings in his bank account yet and decided to get a part time job during the holidays which was in a few weeks time. But never would he have imagined that his parents would buy for him instead because of getting good grades in his exams! Smiling in happiness, he hugged both of his parents and thanked them profusely. Now it seems that he would have to save a little more to only buy the game.

Shock

"There was no way this was happening." Will thought as he peeked from beneath his eyelashes. A few minutes ago, two of his friends and him were walking home when one of them decided to get some snacks while they walk home. Deciding that it would be alright since they weren't in a rush to get home, they entered a convenience store. Not five minutes later, gunshots were sounded in the store and a voice were commanding every one to get on the ground while the cashier took out all the money in the cash register.

Will was numbed with shock and fear that he tried to convince himself that this just wasn't happening at all and everything was a dream.

Speechless

Slowly, Will turned his head and looked at her.

"Could you repeat that please? I think I may have misheard what you were saying." the blush on Elaine's face grew as she stammered and fidgeted a little.

"I-I said thank you! Thank you for helping me." The blush was residing from her cheeks instead a pout was forming as she crossed her arms, looking anywhere but at Will.

Will just cannot believe it. Proud, arrogant and sarcastic Elaine was thanking him! She never thanked anyone at all! Her pride and the way she looks down on anyone made her hard to get along. Most of all, she never thanked anyone, at all! Now here she was talking to him and thanking him for something he did to help her!

"Err....you're welcome?"

Frowning

A frown appeared on his forehead as he thought long and hard how to answer the question in front of him. No matter what he tired though, it seems that the answer is wrong according to the answer sheet at the back of the book. Sighing in frustration, his frown grew prominent as Will slammed the book shut and sighed loudly.

"I'll get that question tomorrow." He thought, turning off the lights and going to sleep.

Angry

His first reaction was shock before it became anger as it coursed throughout him. He never did like his 8 year old cousin. Never did and never will. The child was a brat, annoying anyone when he wasn't given enough attention and took people's stuff and destroy them just for his amusement. Will never really interacted much with his cousin as he couldn't stand him. However the child made it his personal mission to annoy him a lot in family gatherings.

This time, his cousin thought it was a bright idea to go inside his room during a family gathering at their house. Not only did the child made a mess of his room while he explored, he tore his five page long essay which wasn't even finished and due tomorrow! Not to mention the model he finished just yesterday!

He turned a glare at the child standing in front of him. His cousin looked like he was going to cry soon but Will didn't care as he took a deep breath to stop himself from letting his anger out on his cousin.

"Get out."

"W-Will, I'm-"

"I don't want your explanation nor your apology. Get out of my room now."

"B-but-"

"GET. OUT!" Will stressed the words while pointing a finger at the door.

His cousin cried but slowly he walked out of the door. Slamming the door shut and locking, it incase his bad shit crazy Aunt came to scold him for making her precious son cry, Will got to work in tidying his room. The model took some time to glue back together but it was manageable. It was his essay which took him the better of three hours to finish not only the five page which were torn but also another five to complete it.

Sighing, Will rubbed his temple.

"I hate kids."

Sad

Blowing his nose into a tissue, Will wiped away his tears as he continued to eat his popcorn. Andy and him were watching a movie. However, his big brother forgot to mention that it was filled with lots of sad scenes. If there was one thing Will hate the most, it was sad scenes. Not only was he emotional, he cried at scenes which were sad like a girl. His brother always find it amusing at the end of every movie and so Will should have expected it when Andy told him that he would love this movie. How many times does this make it when Andy tricked him into thinking this was a normal movie.

Wiping his face with another tissue, Will muttered "I hate you"

Andy laughed as he ruffled his brothers hair. "I love you too baby brother. Now be quiet, this is the most exciting part."

"You mean the most tragic part of the movie."

"Shush, its coming soon."

Sighing in resignation, Will prepared himself for another hour till the movie ends.

~

That's the end of it! Phew, it's been a while since I types anything related to stories. But I think I did good although I think I'm a little rusty is some areas? Oh well, at least it came out what I had imagined. On a side note, today's quote is written by someone who wrote a book which I really like. It's called The Alchemist and really beautiful. The author uses simple words and could be easily understandable. So I recommend this book and all the works the author writes. However all his books are really deep and would most likely need experience or wisdom to understand them so I suggest not only reading the summary but also a few chapters of the book if it isn't wrapped.

Signing off now~

A long post of pictures which I like

OLIVARES, John Paul (Lakandiwa)

Tumblr artist: ameru

Russian Photographer

I've been looking for pictures these few days and I think these are really amazing. Especially the very first picture. It is my favourite. It makes me think of the past during the Greek era where sculptures and architectures were being constructed and build. Not only that, it also somehow reminds me of the Egyptian era. I have no idea how it is linked at all though... The pictures with the squirrels are also amazing. In Singapore they are hard to find since, well, you have to go to densely populated places near forest to see them and be quick about taking a picture of them as they are fast. I'm not too sure about other countries but I have to say the photographer who caught them on camera was really very lucky. We can really see them in nature and what they do to go about their day. In the pictures I find them very intelligent. It's like they are playing catch and making snowman's from the snow like a human being.

That's all for now, bye~

Illustrators + daily post

Well, I have never really searched for famous illustrators work at all. I mostly see random images that the artist posts and I'm mostly on Tumblr looking through some artists works which they draw for many different reasons. So first of is Michael Kutsche,

His works are more into a little fantasy like feel with developments to original things and some partial realistic elements to it. His works create another view of something original and change it creating something new. Some of it may look very mysterious and have dark kind of feeling but it creates some sort of inspirations for people.

second is James Jean, his work is something more on the imaginative kind of side which I think is really beautiful and makes people think out of the box what this picture is trying to talk about. The colours he use in each picture may be the same colour but the end product comes out beautifully even though in most cases it would be boring after a while. He takes it another step and added in elements like a Japanese/ Indonesian sort of feel to it making it relatable to some people.

third Brian Despain, most of it is about symbolism. I really like lots of his work and after looking at his drawings, it makes me feel and think what was he trying to achieve by drawing these pictures. His works makes me think of war and a steampunk kind of universe due to the colours as well. I feel that his works are what I really want to draw about in the future. The idea of making people looking at symbolism artworks and making them think of the symbol of the picture, makes me really happy to know that they understand what I was trying to convey through art.

Fourth Zutto, her works are more colourful, think out of the box on how to change somethings into something else, colourful and really cute in a sense. All her illustrations are somewhat similar in style but has different themes. Her artwork makes me think of games, especially those adventure type of games with cute or mystical characters. The feel of her artwork also reminds me of nature and it relaxes me.

and lastly Andrey Gordeev, his works are hilarious and not really like normal. He portrays things that people never really thought about before and makes people love his artworks. It may look outrageous for some of them but it still makes people want to continue to look at it. His works remind me of childhood days where everything we think of in our mind isn't weird or impossible and just let it run wild.

~

On the side note, our group did some presentation today for visual arts. we had a last minute meet up yesterday and was really rushing too since we had to get everything together and some of us has yet to type all of it out. Today, I had to double and triple check everything was in order like the spelling and the grammars, does the sentence even make sense and putting in some finishing touches to it. In the end I was really satisfied with it.

So this is my slide.

and some last minute check throughs again in Google Drive.

That concludes it for today! Bye~

Story

Okay so somehow I got it into my head about this plot fic that I have. I know anyone can see it but I don't think I'm skilled enough yet to write something like that yet. I may or may not have written a couple of fanfictions in the past but now, I don't really have lots of motivation to type those out except for reading them be it original ideas or using characters in shows and putting them in a different plot or Alternate Universe.

So I was thinking along the lines of how sad it was that some children who were born into this world defective but most of them has a hidden talent like painting or a blind person playing the piano. Then, I was thinking about all the people who are blind but some could create amazing artworks, like really really amazing things even though they can't see a thing. I tired it before and when I opened my eyes it was really ugly so I have high respects for them. While I was thinking, I thought to myself, why don't I see plots with any blind writers in it? I mean like Main Character A was originally blind and he couldn't see so he mostly read stuff in braille. But along the way as he grew older, he has lots and lots of amazing ideas to write a story. But he doesn't know the keys for the keyboard and he certainly doesn't only want to write everything in braille, most people who can see won't understand it and it would take a long time for someone to translate thousands and thousands of braille characters and put it into a book for people who weren't blind.

His childhood friend, Main Character B with a slightly lower screen time but couldn't be considered minor, who lives across from his house and has heard of his many plots that he created got an idea and decided to stick small dots onto the keyboard so he knows where everything is including the letters, numbers, spacebars etc. Along the way, he knows where every keys were so he doesn't need the little dots anymore. It took awhile but he finally got his first book published and he became a hit.

After a few years he became lonely and his only friends are his childhood friends, the barrister down the road who makes a mean cup of coffee with different flavours everyday, His next door neighbour who would check if he was still alive because of that one time he overworked and nearly died of hunger and of course his manager who comes to collect his manuscript for his books.

The big change to his life was when his manager resigned from his position due to old age and hired a new manager, Main Character C and also the love interest, freshly graduated from university, looking for a job in the publishing company and a big fan of Character A.

Imagine her shock when she finally met him and realised he was blind. Her reaction was justified due to the fact that Character A doesn't have any book signing, a small biography in his books that says he's blind or his picture and he goes under a alias that is totally random and has nothing to do with his name in anyway. Basically, Character A is a mystery to his fans and no one knows if he is a boy or girl due to the gender neutral alias he picked.

At first Character C was a little worried and slightly more careful with him because he was blind but that feeling was thrown out the window when she realised he can function perfectly normal like a normal person and can even go down to the cafe down the street everyday without getting into an accident, she saw it herself when she spotted him walking to the cafe one day and decided to tail him a little.

And I have no idea what would happen next but the ending would be that Character C finally confessed that she really likes him and Character A would finally get it that Character C was in love and that was why she was acting so weird sometimes because he couldn't tell and dense to the fact that she was trying her hands on flirting with him.

Phew, that's one heck of a plot line oh and lets not forget that his over protective childhood friend, Character B giving a warning to Character C that if she hurt his feelings or even him bodily, she would murder her and no one would find her body, and Character B could due to the fact that she read and watch so much detective works, I'm referring to Detective Conan a little, and part of the forensic force in the police department [ I have no idea if the police department has such things at all so this is just a guess...] that she knows where is the best place to hide a body and the many poisons that can be used.

I really like this plot and I have yet to read/seen anyone writing something like this at all. So hopefully, I can write a real story out of this but for now, I'll just keep it here for future reference. That's all for today! Bye~

And today's quote is a bit morbid somewhat but I like it a lot.

"We are dying from overthinking. We are slowly killing ourselves by thinking about everything. Think. Think. Think. You can never trust the human mind anyway. It’s a death trap."

I can't think of a title really....

I don't really have much to talk about today's picture but I just have to say I love the composition and fantasy like feel it has to it.

Mostly I think it was related to a song or two that was in the album.

On another note, I think I had a thought about Ideology/Perspective back in I think March? So here's some of my musing back then when I was reading the first two books of the Egyptian series by Wilbur Smith, 'River God' and 'The Seventh Scroll'

If a person kills someone in the name of justice, he is hailed a hero.
If a person kills someone but for their own justice, he is hailed a criminal, a murderer.
What difference does it make?
Both man have killed someone. They have dyed their hands with blood and yet the only difference is their ideology. One for their country and one for himself. However, this two situations are like a coin with two sides. It depends on who sees it.
That is how we see our world.

Yeah, kind of morbid thinking back then.... Anyway, that's all for now~

Soothing pictures

Here are some soothing pictures I saw today just a few moments ago. It's somehow really like to look at even though it is something you most likely see everyday.... Maybe because it was arranged in a certain way, that's why it's so soothing.

I mean look at this, it's hard to even arrange cereals in a bowl of milk let alone a pyramid shape one.

The colour and pattern makes me mesmerised.

Arranging bottles so that it looks pleasing not to mention sort it by it's colour and all the labels are placed out.

And lastly, though the shoes make look old, the circle in the middle looks very bright.

So yeah, very soothing and pleasing to the eyes. I really like these kinds of work but I seldom see it doing my social net surfing. might be because I didn't really went out of my way to find all of them.

"Thy love caress our wounded hearts, lead me to heaven from hell and bring us eternal light"

Summary on TED video Tony Fadell

The reason and main point of the video was that we need to think not only for the present but for the future. But for that we have to look into the past examples and similar situations for us to develop something new and to help us in our everyday life. We have to think like a young person as they have more questions and answers adults have no answer to yet. Children have lots of answers because they do not have any 'habits' yet and could make them think 'why can't we do it this way'

They're mind are still young and fresh, they have yet to really fully see the world as it is yet and so they have lots of ideas. Once they become adults, this mindset of thinking would change and it would be difficult to retain it.

This type of mindset could be integrated into our lives because maybe in the near future it could save a life. We could find more ways to save the earth. We could find ways to spot deathly illnesses early on like a year or two. We could also find ways to protect ourselves better without using large weapons like guns. It could be anything, as long as we keep asking ourselves questions out of the norm.

Slow day

Hi hi! Here's two picture of my 3D model. The first one was the initial one that I sent to my teacher but after he gave some suggestion, it became the one at the bottom. The changes between the two were the base which I covered fully and the curve was done slightly more bigger than the first one.

That's all for today I guess? Lazed around and went to read some stuff. Nothing much.... Bye~

Rain, rain

I was too busy to take/ snap a few pictures today... So I thought why not upload some interesting pics by another artist I like, . Her works are interesting and weird like but it all links to nature. It's quite soothing actually.

That's all I have to say today... My head hurts and can't think very clearly right now...

Water

Not much to talk about today. I actually almost forgot to post today until I remembered that I had a blog... Oops?

Well, today I'll just say that I really love this artist's idea and creativity for art. It may look simple and the ideas of some of her drawings maybe simple and reused, but the way she draws it and places things in the drawing are really, really beautiful. It's like, a new way of looking at art theme's with the same title/theme but the composition is different.

'Bubble Fish'

'Dreaming on a Cloud'

'Red Queen'

So here are some of her works. Her name is Qinni and both her Tumblr and DeviantArt account are always place of inspirations.

That's all I guess? Oh and my 3D model is coming along, just a few more touches and it's done.  Now I'll have to worry about my other set of homework from today's class and hopefully would look like what I imagined.

Homework, homework~

Hi! Woke up quite early today to get in gear to do my homework. Luckily I did, I finished at 6pm and it's still incomplete! Gosh the number of wires I had to cut and hot glue together, and also the horror of separating them into four per group and bending them together to create the wave like form. There were times I got so frustrated separating the wires which were hot glued together and attached to the headband, the one time a patch of them came off, tI nearly gave up the whole damn thing and thinking of just throwing it all. But after thinking rationally for a few seconds and drinking some tea, I got back up to finish it. It's halfway completed, I just need to touch up on the form, applying clay over the spots with hot glue and attaching it to the board, then would I finally complete it! It feels satisfying really when I glued the last batch of wires onto the head band.

It was really messy work but at least it's somewhat finished, for now. Anyway, I also saw a really nice  picture. The artist, who goes by the name Mochai, posted a video on Youtube showing her colouring in the picture using Paint Tool Sai, a very well known and used program for artists using Windows based computer .

Generally I like the colours but I like the technique she/he used to colour it.

Hmm, well since it rained the past two days, it's pretty chilly which is really welcomed. That's all I guess, see you~

Just a short post

Nothing much to say today so I'll just post a picture of this artist observing lips and used oil paintings to make it. It's really nice and the artist is Nina Klein.

Thats all I guess, see you~
